I learnt so much about acting and life in the short time in her orbit, many of the lessons I think are still sinking in today. Actors’ Ensemble + Audition Masterclass, The Lir Academy

“I met Imogen when I came to do the Actors Ensemble course at the Lir Academy in September 2024. There were 16 of us, from different walks of life and of different ages, and Imogen brought us all together, creating a safe and supportive atmosphere that would allow us all to be playful in trying new things and challenging ourselves. She taught us that our task was to ‘take care of each other and take care of the story’ and I thought it was such a simple and lovely way to emphasise the responsibility we have towards one another and towards the work. I’ve taken it with me to every rehearsal and performance I’ve done since. When I came to do the course, I was still second guessing myself about committing to acting professionally but, with Imogen’s encouragement, I applied to drama school and am now about to finish my first year of training. It’s a wonderful and rare thing to meet someone who sees your potential and helps you be braver with it than you would be on your own, and Imogen did just that for me.”

“I worked with Imogen during a monologue course designed for audition preparation in 2024. Throughout the course she was kind, attentive and extremely committed to finding out what form of direction and feedback worked for each person, learning which style served each student best and applying it seamlessly. This was my first time working on monologues and not once did I feel out of my depth or unsupported. Despite my initial nerves, by the end of the sessions I got to a point where I really enjoyed getting up and presenting my work to the class. Imogen created and fostered a safe and supportive atmosphere where each member of the group felt secure enough to explore and go outside of their comfort zones, ensuring that by the end of the course, everyone felt confident in their monologues and were ready to present them to a panel. Since this course, I have worked with several professionals in similar workshops, yet I truly feel as though Imogen’s approach was one of my favourites.
